For anyone want ipod in 207
As it is popular we all want to connect an ipod to our 207's.Almost anyone of us know that we have a problem with the control of the display. There is a good solution to keep the original head unit in its place, take out the plug of the speakers, connect a ''quadlock to iso'' plug, then steal the power supplies and install a new aftermarket unit in the second place under the original. This is one solution when you don't want to hear music from the original head unit and have all that troubleshooting(cannot connect an ipod etc.)but still have the control.
There is another solution comes from incarexpress.co.uk that have an adaptor for the ipods but you can only change tracks from the pre selected file.
I'm waiting one of this days a part of an order for my shop(car audio installs)and probably some pieces of something new in the market at this section.May be fully control of the device connecting to the AUX of the RD4.
We will keep in touch...

In my 207 i'm thinking to put a push-pull drawer (from citroen C2) under the autoradio with the auxiliary kit mounted inside. Then I plug the ipod base and place it in the drawer. Plug the ipod and i can control the volume with the autoradio and navigate the ipod easely as it sits high enough on the dashboard.
This is not my idea, see message "tiroir push pull sur 207!!!!"

Yes Tiger thats a good idea but you still have no control of the ipod. The positive of this idea is that you can connect anything even an Mp3 telephone so you can hear some music.
The fact remains the same my friend. We have to find a way to control it and of course charge it at the same time

Connencts2 are developing an Ipod interface, making it possible to control the Ipod as if it was a CD-changer. Playlist 1 equalling CD 1 etc...
The drawer from a Citroen C2/C3 does not fit dirctly into the 207 (tried it), But i would imagine it could be adapted with a little work. I can´t open due to being to close to the climate control panek.

well, thanks to Jesper, i think that my idea wasn't as great as i thought, too bad.
Since 5 years that ipod exists, nobody has a simple solution to integrate completly an ipod into a car ( well the way that Sotiris -and the whole world- wants).
Yes, there are autoradios which does that ( see apple site), but putting it in the 207, we loose the screen display...
.... still searching .....

Sotoris, I think that your first solution does not work, i have read in this forum ( but i don't know where) , the plugs are incompatible
For the second, it's a good way but it's a fixed solution. Like a GPS, a car burglar will like your solution.
I'm looking for a solution which i can hide easely, so i ban all ipod holders ...

For the first solution:
Not only the plugs are incompatible, but the signal types too!
This blue plug is for Blaupunkt radios, with DMS bus (proprietary signals, asynchronous serial 4800bps)).
On the Quadlock connector of the 207's radios (from Blaupunkt or VDO-Siemens), it is a CAN bus. Then there is no way to use this adapter.

I really can´t see how a solution can be any better than the one I described as comming from Connects2. 100% invisible and you are able to control the Ipod from the steering wheel remote or from the RD4.

here is anothere solution maybe, coming from Belkin ( new release in march 2007)
the bluetooth dock adapter for ipod.
Two adapters: one goes in the dock ( hidden in the glove compartement) and the other attached to the ipod, becoming a remote.
The only thing, the dock has to be connected to the batteries.
They say that it is compatible with bluetooth devices, maybe also to the RT3.
This solution can be a good one where the ipod acts as a remote, so it can be handled by the passagers in front and back seats.

You will lose the menu options but not the steering control.Anyway if you want it the product code is KCE-420i with any unit of alpine brand you want or you can buy a latest model of alpine that have already yhe cable for that job.
For the connects2 adaptor you are right is not possible for the moment cause there is a production problem and you have to wait a little while...
or for example
with that adaptor
and there is an amplifier from blaupunct that is not need to cut any cables and is for factory systems photos from tomorrow just plug n play
