207 RC ECU reprogram

Messagepar bibo207RC » 08 Juillet 2008, 20:45

Hello everybody,

I just got my new black 207 RC and so far i am so happy with the car, but I already got used to the power and now i want more :D

I've heard that Digitronic are the best and they claim 209 HP, has anybody tried them ? or any other company ?
http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?imag ... crcnp2.jpg

Superchips also seems good, but offers only 190 HP

yes they are great people.

next mod Milltek full exhaust system, they claim an extra 27 HP for the Mini Cooper S which has the same engine as the RC.

So 207 RC 175 HP + Digitronic 30 HP + Milltek 27 HP = 232 HP

I'm a bit skeptical about those gains, it seems too much for just an exhaust system

It really seems impressive, i'm just unsure about the geometric fitting of the system with the 207 ;)

Hi
27 hp are too much indeed.
As i am a dealer of a very good ECU upgrade company i can tell you that the first think after reprogramming the ecu is to change your intercooler with something bigger. Then go for an exhaust 63,5 cat back system upgrade your air intake with the Alta one for the mini and you will see almost 225-230hp@crank.
I have a gt and now have almost 200Hp@ crank and after the upgrade on my turbo + the ic i'm sure i 'll see 230-240..
Also you have to throw away your BOV(blow off valve)because after 1bar intake pressure it is difficult to handle it.
Try put another one from a VAG car(s3)..

try that and then you will see some real horse power on your car... ;)

Hi, I'm expected to get those 230 hp in a few days after my ATH stage 2 ecu remap. However I don't really understand what you mean when you suggest to throw the stock BOV away?? Thanks for your pictures which are very interesting. Can you give us others pics of your air intake system?

the stock bov cannot handle intake pressure more than 1.1-1.2bar for long time as it can crack its piston and then you ;ll have the error message depolution ''system failure''.
So you have to change it anyway cause it open and loose pressure at full throttle...
Dyno the car and then tell if you see 230 my friend with cat-back exhaust and ecu upgrade... ;)

I think our cars have a dump valve and not a BOV, anyway do you know where is it located in the engine ? a picture would be nice.

also my friend read here what happened when you rise up the prssure
http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content. ... t=FMFSITVR
Is the same phenomenon but our valves can hold till 1.0 bar.
VAG valves can hold 1.5-1.6

Do you have a pressure gauge to see that and be sure?
I'm running 1.25-1.30bar with upgrade ecu ,on dyno i can see 210@crunk and from what i know and see(and i've seen enough)rc running stock on 0.8 and overboost(3rd,4rth,5th)1.0.Only if you push it very hard and that means that you have toy be at about 170-180km/h live your foot from the accelarator petal and push it all way down hard again then maybe you will see 1.1.
On every other situation you have controlled overboost from your ecu for 20 secs with the last three speeds(3,4,5) at full throttle (1.0bar).
Trust me on that.
I'm not disagree with you for no reason but because i saw many gt/rc and ofcourse upraded or not and see what happens in there.
The fact is that if you do not change your i/c and bov and ofcourse your exhaust ,ecu up,and air filter ,you will not see 230hp.
NOT because the car is not capable for that but because with only the exhaust and ecu you will see 215 at the best situation.
From the other if you increase the pressure too much (customized ecu upgrade) for getting more horse power the intake air will be too hot for the air sensor and cause the check engine failure...
You can run at 1.3bar with 63.5 cat back system exhaust, bigger front mount i/c and better air filter and live your garage with 230hp.. ;)

Thanks for pics, I saw the Forge link but I don't see how we could replace the stock BOV by a model for S3 Audi? It's not the same shape, so if in the future you install it don't forget to post on this forum ;) I still don't remain trustfull about the gearbox and clutch capacities to handle a so important power...

it is the same shape but the difference is that the 3 holes need to remove the metal rings. The whole distance difference is less than 1mm so removing them seats ok.
The other think is that you have to get a vag plug for th bov just for not to cut your original plug.
The connection is very easy as the whole bov is nothing else than an electromagnet.
You plug it and then you finished..

yes I have a Defi boost gauge connected to the original car boost sensor ( recommended by you )
I will connect the boost sensor that came with the gauge soon for more confirmation I just can't find a pressure hose to connect to it so I ordered this product and waiting for it to arrive :

ooops!!
missunderstood. It is being a long time and forgot to tell you all.
Unfortunately it is wrong to connected there as it is not correct messurement.
We have to connected using an adaptor from alta(the same that you find).
I took that boost port just before 3 days and saw the difference and thats the reason that i told you for you pressure price.
I saw in my car 1.0 bar the moment that true intake pressure was 0.7.
Also if you reprogramme your ecu you wil have to expect some function problems as that connection affect the functionality of our original map sensor of the car.
Sorry for that just find it out 3 days ago.The car is new and we try to find out the problem that may take place when you start something.
Anyway put that boost port and you will see the true intake pressure.

Ok boost port installed and you are absolutely right, my boost pressure is much lower than the other connection.

It's actually lower than what I expected from the RC 175 bhp, I am getting around 0.8 bar in 2nd gear and not much higher boost in 3rd gear but my car is definitely not achieving the claimed 1 bar in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear.

I don't know if there's something wrong with my car.

I unfortunately realized today what you meant... I have a problem with my ecu remap, without any error code this time, no pressure at full throttle anymore! We think that it's due to the BOV which might be damaged, but I still haven't verified... I'm sorry, my english is not perfect but I don't manage to understand how I could replace my stock (and now maybe broken) BOV by a VAG. You say that we must also buy a VAG plug so as not to cut the original, but where do we have to fix it? A picture would be very kind from you please. I actually feel frustrated because of this problem, for not to say very angry  ..
