RT3 display + face plate

Hi all,

I'm in the progress of installing a car pc in my car and had an idea to use the faceplate for the RT3-navigation to install my 7" touchscreen monitor in.

Does anyone know if I can install the face plate (part 8265 Y7 + support 8218 Y2) without any other parts - or will I need more parts to install it?

Would anyone know the size of the RT3 display or the hole in the face plate (technical drawings very welcome)?

Last but not least, do you know where I can find a guide with pictures on how to change the face plate?

Here you can find all the specifications of the RT3 system and its screen (155mm X 87,2mm)

What a pity to remove the RT3 system! That means that it will be completly disabled!

And with the touch screen... well... have you already tried to touch the screen when you're driving? It's hem... not very easy! :unsure:

My car doesn't have have RT3 - just RD4 N1 (which is veeery boring!:D).

That is the reason I'm installing a car pc.

That's a great link - and how awesome that the RT3 display is 7" 16/9, so my aftermarket display will fit as well

But for the touch screen, I don't think it's a good idea, it's really too far away to be able to touch it!
