Hello, I have just taken delivery of my new 207 1.6 Sport, does anyone know how easy it is to remove the black grill and replace it with the silver version. Do you have to remove the bumper as in the 206?
Many thanks

You'd better find a technical book such as Haynes.

I don't know if such a book exist for the 207 but this is probably the next thing that I will search for.

Thats very cool. Professional job (looks like you bought a GT).
So...i guess the question is:
How easy was it? And where on earth did you get a silver grille from? How much did it cost? How long did it take?
Thats more than one question isnt it. Sorry.
Im really interested in this mod. Please let me know.
Cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt,
The Grill comes in 2 parts, upper and lower, the 2 parts cost £130.00, I have the part numbers if you require them.
Fitting is not to bad, the bumper is held on by 4 screws visible when you raise the bonnet, then you have to release the front of the wheel arch liner on both sides of the car, held by plastic clips (4). Inside the wing the bumper is secured by 2 bolts on each side, remove these and the 2 bolts under the number plate, unclip the cables to the fogs, and carefully lift the front clear. It sounds complicated but it is pretty easy. The lower grill clips in, but the upper is glued/welded in a few places, cut the welds with a sharp knife and it come out after removing the 2 securing screws, it is a bit of a fiddly job. I used a hot glue gun to weld the new grill in place. From start to finish less than 1 hour. Oh and make sure you place the bumper on a blanket to protect from scratches.

These are the UK part numbers, though they should be universal.
Good Luck

Did you take off the plastic fender?
Thank you

Sorry for the delay in responding,
You have to release the wheel arch liner first, its held in by plastic clips, once you have released the liner its easy to get at the 2 bolts on either side.
Removing the front wheels makes the job of releasing the liners a lot easier. Good luck
