New RD4 without MP3?

Messagepar Plex » 10 Septembre 2006, 08:18

Hello

My new 207 with RD4 can't read mp3! I've tried with normal cdr and cdrw... Just ejecting cd after inserting

Why is't not working?

it's an option of the RD4, not all the RD4's could read MP3.

Have you specified this option when you order your car ?

Just a question, your 207 is the top of the 207 is it right ?

the equivalent of the "GRIFFE" in France ?

In france, for the Griffe, the MP3 is included ... so it's maybe the same for you.

Your dealer may plug his computer on it and just activate the mp3 option ?

The models in Denmark is:
XR
XR+
S16
GT

My car is the S16 model, with crome fog lights, but not chrome grill.

This is not my car, but it looks like this.

I hope the RD4 just needs activation - but elsewhere my dealer will have to exchange to a new one.

ok, i see, i'm afraid that on this model it's really an option and not included normally.

you'll see what the dealer is going to say.

The "S16" is the "Sport" in France ;) So, the MP3 feature is in option on the RD4 : if you had ordered it, maybe your dealer need to replace your RD4 ;)

As far as I know the MP3 compatible RD4 radio has "MP3" written on the top left of the radio unit ...

On the RD4, there is no easy possibility to know if it's a MP3 model or not.
But on the RT3, "MP3" ist written on it.

To know if the RD4 is a MP3 model, you must read the manufacturer sticker on the side or the top of it (then you must remove the unit).
RD4-N1: Normal RD4, no MP3
RD4-N2: RD4 with bi-tuner and MP3 features

The best way is to ask your dealer, if you have paied the option (about ~100€) when you have ordered.

I think my model is without mp3

I've talked my my dealer, and they will replace my radio tomorrow :)

In Denmark the price difference is only 40 euro.

I hope so :)

I'm going to pickup the car in 2 hours - hopefully with a new RD4 and a trailerhook (removeable).

Now I just need to have my Webasto Thermotop installed - before winther :sol:

Are you sure you absolutely need the Thermotop?
We have easily -20°C in the morning in winter, and it was never a big problem (with the 306, which was a bit slow to warm).
The 207 seems to warm very quickly!

Maybe the air gets hot quickly, but it's unhealthy to start a cold engine, and the fueleconomy get worse. I think the engine lasts longer!

Howewer it's great to have a car without ice on the windows :)
