My car should be (hopefully and fingers crossed) ready to pick up on Saturday or Sunday.
Its a HDI 110 diesel. My question is about how to run it in. Ive struggled to understand the french forums regarding this subject and wonder if the english folks who have got their 207's have any advice given to them by the dealers regarding running in the engine?
Ive seen answers ranging from: "dont bother - its already run in by the factory" all the way to "you need to run it in for the first 10,000km"!!!
Im hoping that the uk dealers are all giving each customer the same advice. Im just wondering what it is and whether you guys have any opinions on the topic?
Thanks in advance!
Matt

I have the 110 diesel as well, the engine noticeable losened off after 2000-3000 miles. You will notice for the first 1000 miles at least that the engine sounds very "new". I just made sure that I didn't go above 3000 revs for the first few thousand miles then 4000 revs for the next few.
I'm at 6000 miles now and things are getting even better!

Running in HDI's is simple, make sure they are warm before you put your foot down for a start!!
1st 500 miles nice and slow
2nd 500 miles absolutely boot it everywhere, i mean cane it!
What this does is loosen up the engine nicely, if you drive like an old dear for more the a couple of thousand the engine WILL NEVER perform as good as it could OR return the MPG you would expect, by 5-7k you should notice the engine loosen up, perform better, return better mpg and be quieter, this is because of how it is driven between miles 500 and 1500! the way to test yours has run in, simple, book a demo at your nearest dealer and there brand new 200 mile example will be as tight as a nats chuff, then you'll notice how good yours is!
