I am not absolutely sure about Peugeot, but I have heard that on Ford factories they have procedure called "consumer quality test" (or something like this). They randomly choose a car (let's say 1 out of 1000) and perform a road test (on special track) to make sure that there are no noises, rattling, that car steers well, that everything's on its place and so on and so forth.
So, your car maight have been chosen for such test. And that means that it must be absolutely tested and percfect.
Although, there's still a chance that some dealer's staff took it for a ride
