Noises from the speakers with JBL

Messagepar leijian » 31 Décembre 2006, 01:50

Happy new year everybody. :coucou:

I have a question to ask you guys. I have a JBL system with RD4 in my car, problem is everytime when I start the engine, there are some strange noises come from the speakers, but it only lasts like 2 secs and it goes away.

I just did the "1000 miles" service for my car yesterday. So I aksed them about this small problem, after the investigating surprisingly they told me there may be a fault in the RD4 head-unit. So they have to sent the unit back to peugeot to do the repairing. And they are not sure how long it's gonna take.

Does anybody have the same problem out there?

PS: Is there anyway I can change the original CD unit to other units like Kenwood, Sony ... ... ? And I won't lost the control of the trip computer.

Hello my friend.
Happy new year to you too.
Because of my job(audio installation)i can tell you that this is maybe a 'pop up' noise from the unit cause your system uses an external amplifier. So the problem seems to be the unit and the noise of the power supply comes out every time you turn it on.This is not a serious problem but it hurts your feelings because of the idea that is a brand new product.
At the other side an after market unit is of course better than the better original but if you want my opinion the best brand is alpine.Have a lot of connections you'll not loose any of your control(steering remote etc.)and also drives the front monitor.
The other sollution is blaupunct as your original. You can buy a good one and it is just plug and play(your original is also blaupunct). :coucou:
All that is if you have the navi unit if you don't all that is just more simple and more cheap..

Hi, Sotiris, :coucou:

Thank you very much for your reply. It's really helpfull. It's strange there isn't noise after I turn on the power, but there is noise right after I start the engine. :(

After my browsing of Alpine web site, now I do want to swop my original CD unit. :D

As you are an expert on this, could you give me some recommendations. For example, which model is better and which is suitable for me, and what kinds of leads or interfaces do I need for this modification?

BTW: the audio system in my car is RD4 + JBL + Bluetooth.

Thank you.

Another question

Hi, guys, :coucou:

I got another question here, do you guys know what exactly includes in our JBL system. For example, the model of amplifier, number and modle of speakers, etc.

Thank you.

I'm afraid that there is a small different from Country to Country not only for the car but for the aftermarket unit too. This is because here in Greece we are some years behind you :dada:  .But don't be afraid your country is better on that stuff. The only think that you have to do is to go to an alpine dealer and tell to him what you want exactly and try to make him understant you(difficult in Greece) and everythink will be ok.
The best unit that you can buy from alpine is IVA-W200Ri but a little expensive(2 din monitor) and an alpine blackbird navi with monitor out to w200ri.With that solution you have to take out your original monitor.
The other solution and the cheaper one is the VPA-B222R vehiclehub pro and then you can do anything.Just plug it to your original and watch dvd listen from ipod control an ipod etc.Simply solution and the best for you. :good:

Is not great thinks in there.Paper coat speakers almost original peugeot and an amplifier 4x70w but there is a big difference from a simple radio-cd-mp3.And this is only think, the power output and probably you have a small subwoofer somewhere in the trunk(may be near the amp at the right side). The unit is the travelpilot model from blaupunct(for the navi units) and the other is san remo model(no navi)

Hi, Sotiris :coucou:

Thank you very much for your reply and great advice. I will pop in a alpine dealer soon, and let's see what they can do. And about the detail of the JBL package is a mystery, I asked my dealer about the same question, I couldn't tell me neither.

Have a nice day.

Thank you. :D

New info.I'm afraid we cannot change the original cd player because we can control the display from it(monochrome displ. A,B,C,CT). :bah:
I will try to do something when mine arrived and i'll let you know for further info :coucou:
