Ordered 207 in Sept and now a little concerned...

Messagepar MATTnJUDELLE » 19 Octobre 2006, 16:23

Hi guys,

My first time on these forums - so glad I found them. I just wanted to share a worry I have really and see if im making a bigger problem than there actually is.

My girlfriend and I placed an order for a new 207 (sport with the 110 hdi engine and some extras) on the last Saturday of September (in england).

During September all Peugeot dealerships were offering 0% APR finance provided you put a minimum of 35% deposit down. So we took their offer.

The car was ordered and we were told the delivery date would be end of November. 2 months...well they were up front about it so we werent to worried.

I got a call about a week ago to say that the delivery date has been brought forwards and the car should arrive at the dealership now by the 26th October. Obviously we were both pretty happy to hear that.

I popped into the dealership yesterday to see how things were coming along and they said it was now the 28th October. No problem. then the sales guy said that if the car didnt arrive in the country by the end of October we would not get the 0% APR deal!!???

At no point during the sales procedure in September were we told we could loose the 0% APR deal based upon when it is delivered into the country. We are both angry about this as the main decision to buy it was based on 0% APR. We went through credit checking, paid a deposit and signed on the dotted line in September when we were told to so we would get 0% APR. Its not our fault that delivery dates are variable - thats between the dealer and the factory surely?

Anyone have any comments about this?

Hi and welcome here.

First of all, congratulation for your order :)

For your APR, i don't know if it's usual to get an end date for this kind of offer.

Is there anything written on your signed paper for that ?

On the paperwork that we signed it says that its 0% APR. On the back in all the legal jargon it says that if the Seller fails to deliver the car within 21 days of the estimated delivery date they have to tell us. We can then write to them and demand it is delivered within 7 days and if they fail then we can cancell the contract between us.

At no point in any of the documentation does it say that they can change the finance agreement it was sold to us under based upon the delivery date. We were told the finance agreement was based upon the date of purchace. Ie the 0% ARP deal got pulled in October becasue Peugeot sold 111% of what they wanted to sell in September and so they dont feel the need to boost sales with 0% APR offers in October.

Thats fair enough. but we signed and deposited our car in September when the 0% APR offer was active and we dont understand what the delivery date by the factory has to do with the Finance agreement we made in September.

Even more confusing: we signed for the car in September and the Estimated delivery date was late november. So in NO way could they have originally gotten the car to us by the end of October and at no point were we told this would bring the 0% APR deal into question. So bringing the delivery date forwards to end of October should be better surely?

I hope Im making sense as Im typing jolly fast.

Matt

Hello and welcome on this forum! :coucou:

As you said, like all other such contracts, the 0% APR is approved upon the date of purchase. I think that your dealer says bullshits (like many dealers), but I don't know the reason why.
Have you already send an e.mail directly to Peugeot UK, from their official website? Then you will have certainly a better answer...

Hi there, you will not loose your 0% deal for a start, as soon as the HP is accepted on finance through peugeot financial services you have that deal, full stop. If the car took 4 months to get there you would still get the deal. The dealer wants you to take delivery in october so the car counts as an october deal and registration and the salesman will get paid on it for october too, it's all targets! It is wrong to tell you you will loose your deal, check your order, what is the quoted date of delivery? Tell the dealer you will take delivery but it is inconvienient to you and you would like something for free to make it more convienient, i.e. mats/fuel/ rear spoiler if your fealing brave! If all else fails drop a line back to me and I can have a look at it..... ;)
